Slasher Fights to Get His Job Back. Voters Smarter Than That.

Hiram Monserrate's homophobic campaign to get his state Senate seat back seems to be failing, or at least that's the impression everyone is getting from the voters in the district. Thank you thank you thank you for being smart, voters!

Last December, Peralta marched alongside supporters of same-sex marriage to Monserrate's East Elmhurst office to protest the senator's vote against same-sex marriage.

On March 1, Monserrate returned the favor. The former senator rallied outside Peralta's Jackson Heights office, with district clergymen.

"My Bible principles don't let me support the marriage between two men or two women," said Rev Ricardo Reyes of the El Elyon Christian Church in Corona.

In some of the district's churches, Monserrate supporters have handed out flyers calling Peralta a "gay caballero," and saying he is supported by "a group of mega rich gay fanatics dedicated to destroying our way of life and creating same sex marriage."
